Homeowners should install Energy-efficient windows correctly to reduce the amount of heat loss in their living areas. With better heat control measures, windows play a significant role in reducing the average energy bills in homes. They regulate the levels of heat and lower the cost of electricity used in heaters.

Windows with low energy ratings perform poorly and are a cause of heat loss in homes. It then results in high electric bills.
Buyers should carefully study the Window Rating Energy Label to get a review of how the window product works.
The window rating labels have a similar design as the labels used in washing machines and refrigerators. They all use a rainbow design (Double glazing Hampshire).

Types of energy rating processes for windows:

1-Schemes conducted by the British Fenestration Rating Council found on the top left of a window product.
2-Those operated by the British Standards Institute found above the centre of the window product.
3-Rating schemes used by CERTASS and located at the top left of the window product.

All the different strategies work in a uniform procedure.
Window products are given letter ratings with respect to the performance of the window, glass type, frame design, frame material and other parts of the window product. A window that is rated A+ is more efficient than a window rated C.
The formula used to calculate the letter rating considers the window product’s solar gain(The amount of heat that passes through the window from the sun), air leakage, and overall thermal efficiency.

Different window products have different energy ratings. The buyer has to consider the energy efficiency levels of the window product and other factors such as:

1-The required levels of planning and restrictions involved.
2-Material preferences.
3-Design needs.
4-The budget available.

Since 2009, KJM has been offering class A, C and E of window products. We now only provide type A and class C rated windows with the current regulations on window products. The difference between the two classes is almost negligible that we end up advising our clients to choose frames with an A rating.

The window energy rating is the overall procedure and method used to calculate the energy performance of various window products. The following criteria is used to determine the average energy level rating of a window:

2-Air Leakage.
3-Type of glass used to make the window panes.
